A native of St. Petersburg, Florida, he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology and Ministry. He was an ordained minister, Overseer of Faith Deliverance Holiness Church and served in the United States Marine Corp.
He leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Nathan Taylor; four sisters, Dorothy Larkins, Mary Taylor-Hines, Naomi Bonds (Ellis) and Esther Taylor;
