Carey, David W. age 62, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017. He was born in Randolph, Vermont and moved to the St. Petersburg area in 1967 from Vermont.
Dave was an educator and administrator for the Pinellas County Schools for 40 years. He was also a Catholic and member of St. John Vianney of St. Pete Beach. Anywhere Dave would go, he would shine a light and infuse happiness. All who had the privilege to meet and know him were blessed with his kindness and humor.
Dave was preceded in death by his father; William Quinn Carey. He was survived by his loving soulmate and wife Catherine Carey. Also his daughters; Erin Flanagan and Amber Carey, and his stepson Connor LaPorta, and stepdaughter Nicole Lampasso. Other survivors are his mother; Kathryn Carey, sisters; Donna Marie Carey, Lynn Colquitt, and his brother Michael Carey, and grandchildren Isla and Finn. Also part of the family are Kim Merris, Cheryl Bell and Mimi Current.
A celebration of Dave’s life will be held on Saturday, February 18 at 4:00 P.M., at the Bon-Aire Resort on St. Pete Beach.
